Happy New Year to All

Wow! This is my last post for the year 2010. The days passed so quickly that we are now 2 hours away from 2011. But, before I do that let me just say thank you to the Lord Almighty for all the blessings and hardships He has given me and my family. we become stronger and closer with one another. He helped us realize the true value of family. I want to thank Him also for the online job that He gave me. I am now more financially stable compared to the previous years. I am very lucky this last quarter of the year and I wish for it to continue next year. Thank you for also giving me new friends especially here in the blogosphere. I will continue this thank you post next year as I have to reminisce all the things that have happened to me.

My Bebe Got ___for Christmas

A month before Christmas we were already discussing what gift we should give to our son. Since he was crazy back then with Toy Story and Buzz Lightyear, we have scouted where we can buy and how much. To our surprised, the Buzz Lightyear that we found cost Php4000. As much as we love to buy this for him the cost is really not realistic enough for us (hubby and I). Thank God that as Christmas was approaching, his craziness over that turned to Ben10. Compared to Buzz the price of a Ben10 omnitrix was way, way cheaper.

Update on Social Spark v1

I was complaining on my previous post about not able to access Social Spark the old version. Well, I am very much worried since I have funds there and I am still waiting for their minimum payout of $50. So what I did after I posted it here, I sent an email to their customer service informing them of my query.


I have waited for 6 days to get a response from them but it was all worth the wait since they have manually cashed out my finances to my Paypal account (view here). Right now, I am still a member of Social Spark v2 and still waiting for opportunities to write about. And anyone who has the same situation as mine, you can get in touch with them so that you can withdraw your money too.

A Day at the Cribs Foundation

Last Saturday we visited the Crib Foundation located in Marikina City. It was an outreach program by my hubby's car club the MitsulancerPh, Inc. They held it every Christmas season wherein old clothes and toys and other stuff that their members can give will be donated to the foundation. It was my first time to went there so I have no idea on what to expect. I just thought that I will visit some orphan and that't it. We arrived at around 10 in the morning and few of their members were already there. My hubby gave Tyreese's old things and then we proceeded. We entered a room full of babies ages 1 year and below. As we entered, a baby boy approached me and hugged me and just stayed with me. It was awkward at first but as I get along with them it went alright. We played and played and you can feel that the babies all longed for attention. One baby even called me "Mama" and it just touched my heart. On the other hand, Tyreese ran and played with them and I can tell that he too was enjoying the moment. One baby giggled at his laughter while the other one was following him trying to slap him with a toy. Taking of photos is prohibited and you have to seek their permission first. The volunteer baby sitter told me that it was for the protection of the children and I totally understood. Came 11 am and the play time was finished because they will took a nap. It was hard when we told them that we have to go. In that small span of time, they have touched my heart and it was one humbling experience for me and my son. I will never forget their faces all smiling at that mere short encounter. This will definitely not our last visit and I said to myself that I will make something to help them and to have more people donate things for them. By the way, they are open for adoption provided that you are married and you have a stable job to be able to raise them well. They said that the DSWD will be the ones who will have a say on that matter.




Aside from those babies that I have the chance to know, they also have infants (as young as 3 days old), toddlers and teenagers in the foundation.

One FUN Experience

Being a graduate of Hotel and Restaurant Management exposed me to a lot of things that relates with food and beverages. We are taught how to cook different specialty food, how to bake different types of cookies, pastries and cakes and appreciate the different kinds of beverages as well. I remember having to memorize all the cocktail recipes because it was part of our midterm examination. We have to prepare our chosen cocktail, do the flaring and all and recite the recipe in front of our professor. I managed to pass that up and relieved that I haven't broke the bottle that I used during my flaring show. We also do have an event held on a hotel as part of our tour. Different food were served on the buffet table. A wide array of desserts were laid that looked so appetizing. It was a fun experience because we have the chance to taste all the different kinds of food plus a sparkling wine was even served to us at our table. Oh, I hope I can do that again and this time with my hubby and son because I am sure they will love the experience and the food as well.

Organizing A Party

Organizing an event whether it is a birthday, anniversary, Christmas or just a simple get together party with friends is really a stressful yet a fulfilling responsibility. You must take into consideration what will be the theme of your party. It will all start there from the ambiance, music, food and even the acme lighting equipment that you will use in the venue depends upon your choice of theme. Careful planning must be done and it is best that you have a team to brainstorm and plan the things needed in the party. Each team member must have their particular area of responsibility in order to cover all that needs to be done. But, if you are a mother planning for the party of your child, it is best to include the household members in the planning and execution part of it. In this way, you unburden your self from the stress and in the same way the task will be lighter and easier since many people will work on it. In this light, proper planning and execution of it is the key to have a successful, fun, memorable birthday party or event that can be enjoyed by every attendees invited.

Worry Free Home

Since Tyreese was diagnosed with asthma we have made our house dust free. We have avoided having pets like dogs and cats running around the area. We also installed an air purifier in our room where he sleeps. Foods that can cause allergy such as nuts, chocolates and eggs are being taken in a minimal intake only. Furniture and other furnishing are kept clean everyday. Even the pillows and beddings have their regular cleaning and sanitizing day so that bed bugs will not stay. We are also being advised by his Pediatrician to use the Made to measure pleated blinds instead of hanging curtains. In this way, the dust are trap on the blinds and will be easy to clean compared to curtains. White colored blind are much preferred since you can easily tell if it is full of dirt and dust. All these things must be taken into consideration because we still don't know what triggers his attacks. So all possibilities must be noted and acted upon. In this way, we keep our son healthy and asthma free. After all, I still prefer having to clean the house everyday rather than bringing him to the hospital because it can be physically, emotionally and financially draining.

A Dream Vacation!

One of my dream vacation would be a norfolk broads boat cruise. Actually, there are so many things and places I want to visit but this one is on my top list. I have done research on it and find it amusing. As I am a nature lover, I want to travel here and have a feel of the environment. I can imagine how the air feels like touching my face and all the fishes waiting to be caught. Of course, a place like that always have restaurants, markets and nearby villages that you can visit if you get bored cruising. Learning the history of a place is really a very overwhelming experience. It is like connecting to it because you are tracing back how the place was formed and become what it is now. Even if you are just a visitor and not a native of the land, it will surely will leave a mark on your memory and heart. And that is what I want to accomplish by having to embark on this ultimate dream of mine. I hope that I can save enough and eventually someday even if I am already old, I can experience having a vacation like this even in a more simple way.
